Kia ora dear friends. We never thought this day would come but it has, and comes with the heaviest heart.
Lamason brewbar has closed its doors after 11 years of making some of wellingtons finest coffee and silliest banter. This decision wasn’t made easily. If fact it’s one of the hardest things we’ve had to do.
Covid 19 has made light work of wreaking havoc not only this community, but worldwide, and we were no exception to its rule.
We have been lucky enough to have traded for as long as we have, but could not sustain the damage any longer.
Apologies for the suddenness of the shop closing, but this all happened very quickly.
I personally don’t think the book is finished, yet merely a great chapter of this amazing story has sadly come to a close.
My heart is heavy, and I really don’t have the words to express the gratitude I have for all the kindness, loyalty ( even though I’ve never like that word in cafe) and all round fun you the people and my staff have given this place. This was my 1st love- partially built with my own two hands, but never mine in a sense - I never liked being a “boss”. Everyone that came in for coffee, or worked here, made a little bit of this cafe their own. This is what I set out to do from day dot - creating jobs and having fun in the work environment. ( I certainly did)
I love you all more than you know… I really do. I appreciate everything my staff ( family ) has done for me and the shop. The worst part is not making coffee love with you all anymore…. for now.
I hope I speak for all the staff from over the years when we say, “cya latte” 🖐🏼❤️
