10+ years of my family’s life has gone into Automat. Tonight I’m cleaning and getting out for the last time. We may not have got it right every time but we sure tried. You hope the vision that you had for your business is seen by everyone but sometimes it isn’t

Show your support for this much-loved facility that has been loved by generations and save it for the generations to come. Khandallah Pool was built by our community almost-100-years-ago for the community. This iconic and unique community facility is used by Wellingtonians visiting from across the city, in addition to the northern suburbs. Once gone it will be gone forever. We're doing it again and this one is going to be bigger and better! We're taking Cicchetti, a Venetian style of bar snack and side dish eaten with friends whilst putting the world to rights, and we're putting our own twist on it. Just take a look at the menu! Combine that with unique Italian wines, beers and accompaniments and we'd say that's a great night out. 🍷

We've had such amazing feedback from our recent Cicchetti evening that we're doing it all again!

Join us for another evening of Venetian Cicchetti, Aperol, Italian wines and beer. These bite-sized Italian snacks are the perfect way to explore the flavours of Venice. Think of them as Italian tapas – small plates packed with big taste!

🇮🇹One of our Venetian highlights last year was a street food tour where we discovered the wonders of cicchetti, a selection of snacks and side dishes typically served in the morning at bacari (bars) with ‘shadows’ - small glasses of wine or beer. 🍷

What a way to start the day! We were hooked - even the kids loved them - and we walked our tour all over again the next day just to find those yummy morsels and drink tiny glasses of sparkling red wine.

So given how much we loved it we thought we’d share cicchetti with you and host a Venetian night at Automat on the 9th February. Come join us from 5pm - bring your Friday night crew and settle in for a taste of Venice (well as best we can make it on Burma Road! 🤣)

We are happy to take bookings - just message us via direct message for your table. Cicchetti doesn’t need tables though - we can gather, stand or sit and enjoy each others company. 🇮🇹

OUR FINAL WEEK!

Mixed feelings over here at Automat HQ but we're sailing into Christmas with plenty of festive spirit!

One last week of fantastic specials to tempt your tastebuds - we recommend booking this week to secure yourself a table. Of course everything is available to takeaway so thats just a phone call - 479 1777

Our final service is the evening of Saturday 23rd December 🙃

Another reminder about vouchers - if you're sitting on one please use it this week. We cannot honour vouchers once the doors close.
