Starting Te Tau Hou the best way we know how. ✨

This morning we were lucky enough to celebrate Matariki alongside the amazing community at Growing Point

Matariki is a time to reflect on the year that’s been, celebrate the present, and look ahead with hope. A time to come together, share stories, strengthen connections, and give back to our communities.

Ngā mihi nui to everyone who joined us for a kawhe, a kōrero, and a beautiful morning together.

Mānawatia a Matariki.

Coffee brings people together, but being part of Havana also means thinking about the impact we can have beyond the cup.

As part of One Havana 2026, our team put our Force for Good strategy into action through a bike-building challenge. Teams worked together to build bikes that will now be gifted to the students at Oaklynn School.

Force for Good is our commitment to use the strength of the Havana community, our people, our partners, and our cafés, to create positive impact where we can. It’s about taking action in ways that support people, communities, and the environment.

The bike build was a simple but powerful reminder of what that looks like in practice. Teamwork. Creativity. Purpose.

Each bike built represents more than just a challenge completed during the event. It’s about giving students the freedom to explore, the joy of riding, and something that’s truly their own.

Moments like this reinforce what Force for Good is all about:
Using our platform to create meaningful impact beyond coffee

In 1 hour we're joining the kōrero. ☕

Frankie from our team is speaking at Ethical Espresso: Coffee with a Conscience - a webinar hosted by our friends at Go Well Consulting alongside Kōkako Coffee and John Burton Ltd.

Green coffee prices have hit record highs. Behind that number are real pressures - climate events, fragile supply chains, and the people who grow every bean we roast. It's a lot to sit with. But sitting with it is exactly the point.

We've been building relationships with coffee farmers around the world for over 36 years. Not transactional ones - relationships built on transparency and making sure ethical practices show up at every step of the journey from farm to cup.

We're also proud to be a certified B Corp - not because of the badges, but because of what they represent: independent verification that we're doing the mahi, not just talking about it.

There's always more to learn. Events like this matter to us.

11am-12pm today. Still free to join - see you in there

Last week, we brought our entire team (Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch) together for the first time since opening our second roastery. We spent two days reconnecting with our purpose: to fuel creativity and community with every cup. Not just what we do, but why it matters.

We introduced a new tradition, The Havana Cup, gifted to every team member on their one-year anniversary as a symbol of belonging.

We aligned on our 2026 strategy and heard from Alan Bunting about the power of belief and ownership.

We also celebrated excellence across the business at our Havana Awards:
Coffee Mastery: Elijah Masemann
Creative Spark: Customer Experience Team
Good Ancestor: Frankie Cistrone
Havana Unity : Auckland Roastery Team

The reminder we're taking from this event: while we operate across regions, we move as one crew. One purpose. One future.

Proud of our people. Excited for what's ahead.

Say hello to Eighty Fed ☕️

Bringing bold, bright Havana energy to the heart of Auckland City. Front and centre? Our Super Deluxe blend - silky body, biscuity sweetness, smooth finish. Espresso purist or flat white loyalist, this one hits just right.

The cabinet is stacked too (loaded focaccia, Biscoff cheesecake, treats worth lining up for 👀) - but coffee is the hero here. Dialled in, consistent, and seriously good.

Whether you're city-bound, showing off Auckland to out-of-towners, or chasing your daily ritual - this is your new CBD go-to.

📍 80 Federal Street, Auckland CBD ⏰ 6:30am–2pm daily

Super Deluxe, shining bright in the city.
