The lights are off, and the last plate has been served.

Thank you for the laughs, the tears, the rants, the lunch breaks, the coffees, the comfort food, the birthdays, the breakups, the random hugs, the baby bumps, and the baby visits. Thank you for letting Sweet Release be part of your lives for the past 11 years.

I’ve watched first dates turn into families. Friendships form over fries. And little kids grow up into teens who now order their own food.

Being an honorary aunty to so many of your little ones has been one of the greatest honours of owning the shop.

Hi everyone

We have an important announcement.

After nearly 11 years—and 5 years in this location—Sweet Release will be closing on Sunday, July 13th. This space has carried so much. It’s been my dream, my livelihood, and a place I’ve poured everything into—through some of the best and hardest times of my life.

Late last year, we lost our son Jack at 5 months pregnant. Coming back to work after that kind of heartbreak felt impossible. But so many of you helped me find some rhythm again. You showed up, held space, and gave me room to just be. I’ll never forget that.
Now, I’m pregnant again. And while it’s not without fear, our focus is on doing everything we can to bring home a healthy baby and grow our family. With our lease ending, it feels like the right time to let go and make space for this next part of the journey.

I’m really going to miss seeing everyone in the shop—your faces, your stories, and the little moments we shared each day.

We’ll be here until the 13th of July, serving your favourites. We hope we’ll be able to say goodbye in person.
