After 2½ years of working his magic in the Karahui kitchen, it’s time for us to farewell our Head Chef Nick Chand.

Nick is one of those people who is simply a pleasure to have around. Calm, kind, incredibly talented and always wearing that smile, with his trademark “nothing’s a problem” attitude, no matter what the kitchen threw at him.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed having him as part of our team, and we’re incredibly grateful for the beautiful food, hard work and good energy he has brought to our kitchen.

Nick, thank you for everything. We’re going to miss your talent, your energy and that cheeky giggle.

We wish you nothing but the very best for whatever comes next. You’ll always be part of the Karahui whānau.

There’s something pretty special about winter dinners shared around warm tables. Thanks for continuing to support our small team and the wider Martinborough community. Chef Nick and Chirag are serving slow-cooked duck with creamy polenta and Pinot jus this week, beautifully matched with Blue Earth Pinot Gris or a glass of Equilibrium Rosé.
