🍋 THE BACKBENCHER HIGHLY SCIENTIFIC, CUMULATIVE POLL RESULTS ARE IN FRIDAY MORNING 25/9/26! 🍋
So, what have our punters been telling us?
National — 161 or 19.9%
Greens — 146 or 18%
Labour — 98 or 12.1%
ACT — 91 or 11.3%
Te Pāti Māori — 77 or 9.5%
Opportunity Party — 71 or 8.8%
NZ First — 65 or 8%
The really interesting number? 131 people or 16.2% of the poll have chosen “Undecided / None of your damn business” — and we're pretty sure some of that is down to public servants understandably being reluctant to declare their political preferences while they're wearing the lanyard. 😉
But perhaps the biggest takeaway isn't who's ahead, who's behind, or who people refuse to tell us about.
It's how bloody diverse the results are.
And that's exactly what we love here at the Backbencher.
Different parties. Different opinions. Different backgrounds. Strong opinions, weak opinions, no opinions, and the occasional “none of your damn business.”
We're an open pub, and everyone is welcome to come in, grab a drink, have a yarn and have their say.
Because democracy works a whole lot better when we're prepared to sit around the same table — even when we absolutely disagree.
Keep an eye out for next weeks update in the lead up to the election
🍻 The Backbencher — social lubrication and debate is our bottom line.
