MINT CONDITION
Braised lamb shoulder with smoked cheddar, coconut tzatziki, pickled red onions, McClure’s Pickles, pomegranate molasses, and a mint and arugula salad.
-
We have veered away from the chicken and beef burgers and are running it straight with this slow cooked lamb sando. And slow cooked it was. The lamb was melting away and the big chunks were generous. The only thing from keeping it falling out everywhere was the slice of smoked cheddar draped over. Reminder me of lamb off the spit. 🤤 The abundance of pickles cut through that fatty lamb and you know the tzatziki and pomegranate molasses make sense. Add some mint and arugula for freshness and that’s all you need. That bun was pillow soft. The softest I’ve experienced in a while. That sucker was definitely steamed. I need to come back to experience this in a cheeseburger ASAP. Also, the fries were to die for. Nothing beats a twice or thrice cooked chip with glass like exterior. 😍 The sides were also glorious. Standout for me was the steak tartare. Think French technique meets South East Asian flavours. EPIC. 🔥
-
Also gotta say the service was outstanding. All the staff were great and very helpful. If you’re after something a bit different from ya standard beef or chicken burger then you may wanna give Cuba Street Tavern a try. 💚

MISO HAPPY
Karaage chicken thigh, cheese, miso mayo, slaw, streaky bacon, gochujang caramel and in between a toasted brioche bun.
-
Oh my this hit the spot. It’s sweet, it’s salty, it’s spicy, it’s umami. The chicken is perfectly crunchy. The miso mayo is creamy and the slaw provides a bit of relief. That gochujsng caramel is dang decadent man. The bacon added a much needed salty hit. I didn’t even realise until writing this now but it didn’t have cheese. Not sure if it needed it anyway. I don’t think I would really change anything except add more pickles. As this is on the sweet side it would be nice to get some more acidity to cut through. Otherwise if ya like it sweet with a bit of heat then this one’s for you. 🔥
-
Had to throw in some Japanese gravy fries, K-Pop Karaage bites and donuts to seal the deal. 👌🏻

Voting closes on the 29th March so go get some burgers and show them the love. 🙌🏻

Some slight tweaks to the cult classic, “The Oklahoma”. We’ve gone heavy on all the mustard and think you will love it. 💛 All the other same usual suspects. Cheeseburgers, loaded fries etc…

Swipe to peep the menu and we’ll see ya on Wednesday the 23rd. Grill will be going from 5pm.

It’s The Great New Zealand Toastie Takeover time again and the legends at have hooked it up. Since I was in Auckland this past week, I had to dabble in at least one and this French weapon from Brittomart caught my eye. 👀

Le Poutine 🇫🇷
Golden , cheese curds and tender coffee-spiced beef brisket burnt ends, this beauty doesn’t hold back. Layered with creamy Gruyère, a sharp hit of horseradish butter, Sweet & Spicy Pickles for that perfect pickle punch and finished it with a generous pour of dirty bird white chicken gravy — all sandwiched between slices of Daily Bread’s caraway loaf.
-
Poutine and toastie together? Sign me up! I’m a sucker for carb on carb action so this one was a no brainer for me. The brisket was tender me softly, Makikihi fries are always a great choice, plenty of cheesiness from the Gruyère. The green salsa verde looking sauce I assume was the horseradish butter. Could have gone a bit more heavy with the horseradish but it helped balance out the dish. You would think that this was all way too much but that’s where the pickles come in. They helped cut through all that richness. The gravy was also a nice touch which brought a bit of moisture to the whole situation. 💦
-
All in all a solid sando. If you’re around the CBD area go check out Brittomart. 🙌🏻

We taking a trip to the Mediterranean for the next burger and this one is from .

I wanted to try a few different proteins for the different burgers and was looking for creative ways they used the . Quite a lot of the burgers are just ya normal burger with pickles but I was intrigued how the pickles were gonna go inside the olive tapenade. 🤔
-
Moroccan Lamb
Moroccan lamb patty, crumbled feta cheese, olive pickle tapenade, pesto aïoli, cos, red cabbage pickle, paprika crispy wedges and lemon sour cream.
-
This was nice and fresh. 👌🏻The lamb is definitely the star of the show. A really strong gamey flavour. Nice and juicy with subtle Moroccan spices. Everything else was there to provide some relief. Cos provided a nice crunch. The pesto aïoli and feta added a nice creaminess. The tapenade was the right choice but the pickles got lost in the mix with olives being the dominant flavour. I think the cabbage pickle could have done with a bit more acidity but other than that it was smooth sailing. These may have been the best wedges I’ve ever had. Think triple cooked chips but in wedge form. Super crispy glass like exterior and soft on the inside. Had a nice seasoning and the sour cream is always a nice addition. Didn’t get any lemon flavour at all though…
-
I enjoyed this burger. My inner Greek is always intrigued when I see these Mediterranean flavours. Definitely worth checking out if you love your lamb. This one was on the lighter side so it won’t put you on your ass.

There’s Something about Bloody Mary🩸🥒🫒🐔🍔
Buttermilk fried chicken thigh, topped with spiced vodka pomodoro sauce, peppered béchamel, cheese, Worcestershire bacon, Tabasco aïoli, sweet and spicy pickles and pickled celery in a seeded brioche bun with beer battered fries and a Bloody Mary skewer.
-
Wow, this was a damn good chicken Sando. Couldn’t really fault it if I’m gonna be honest. On paper it sounds like a Bloody Mary but all together it was kinda like a boujee chicken parmigiana but in burger form with all the extras. 👌🏻 You couldn’t really taste all the little flavour additions separately but they all came together very well. The chicken was CRISPY and tender. 💦 The bacon was perfect. That cheese melt was perfect. The sauces were rich and flavourful. If I were to nitpick it could have had a bit more of that pomodoro and béchamel but that’s just me being a condiment fiend. 😂 Every now and then you’d get hit with the pickled celery which added a nice freshness. Pickles were definitely generous and present throughout and the skewer was fun to snack on in between bites. The bun was pillow soft and the perfect carrier to a very clean eating sandwich. Not one bit of drippage!
-
All in all, I loved the name, loved the idea and it all came together deliciously. This is definitely a sandwich I would come back for time after time. LBQ, get it before it’s gone this Sunday. Definitely one of the better chicken Sandos I’ve had in a while! 🙌🏻

Creole-spiced, beer braised beef brisket, beef patty, double smoked cheddar, caramelised onions, , habanero, mango and rum spiced mustard, aïoli on a Arobake potato bun with McClure’s pickle dusted fries.
-
I always love eating here and yesterday was no different. I thought this was gonna be real heavy but surprisingly it wasn’t too bad. Felt pretty good after haha. It was quite a well balanced burger. Meaty and cheesy as. 😮‍💨 The patty was a nice medium and the braised meat had heaps of flavour. Those caramelised onions had been taken right to the end and were jammy as. Condiments ticked all the boxes and they were generous with the pickles. Those Signature definitely stood out. Bun was ok. A bit spongy but not bad. Held together well though. I also loved the fries! 😍 Not sure how they made that pickle dust but If you’re old school and into vinegar on your chips then this one’s for you, but in pickle form. Fries were still crispy and there were bits of dill fronds in there too which was a nice touch. 👌🏻
-
Not the prettiest of burgers but definitely a TASTY one. 🙌🏻 If you love beefy boigas and kern to try one around Petone area then this one’s for you. get it in ya! Cheers team. 💚
