It was a pleasure to play a small part in this massively successful Expo today 🥰

Community and connection really matter, and we delight in making a space for that here at Hope Cafe, alongside some yummy food and drink! It was really special to welcome so many new faces today ❤️

Thank you to the RICI - Rodney Inclusive Communities Initiative for organising such a great event, to all the stallholders and visitors who made use of the café, and to the incredible team of Hope volunteers who served, cooked and washed dishes afterwards! 🥰

💚 Belonging Matters – Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 💚

Today’s successful Rodney Support and Inclusion Expo, held in Warkworth at the Mahurangi Hope Centre, celebrated the importance of connection, inclusion, and community - reflecting this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme: “Belonging matters"

By bringing together community organisations, support services, and people of all ages and from all walks of life, the Expo created opportunities to connect, discover available support, and build a stronger sense of belonging.

RICI recognises that barriers such as disability, financial stress, discrimination, language difficulties, and social isolation can make it harder for people to feel included. Events like the Expo, help break down those barriers by creating welcoming spaces where everyone in our local community, can feel seen, valued, and supported.

Together, we can build a more connected, inclusive, and supportive community where everyone in the Rodney district, has the opportunity to thrive.

Check out our new weekly lunch special... The Reuben Sandwich! Pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and tangy pickle dressing, all toasted between two thick slices of rye 👌🏻

We've also got the ever-popular smoked salmon bagel, roasted veggie frittata and a bacon and egg pie to get you through lunch time! As well as our cabinet of tasty cakes and slices 🤗

It was great to welcome back some lovely Warkworth Mainly Music mums and bubs to the cafe today after their two week break... how cute are the kids fluffies?! And tomorrow the Hope Centre is excited to be hosting the RICI - Rodney Inclusive Communities Initiative Expo... there's going to be a great atmosphere around the café for sure! 🥰

Look at these! 😋 Mouthwateringly squidgy, sticky, sweet beautiful Cinnamon Rolls! Perfect paired with a cup of our delicious coffee for morning or afternoon tea 👌🏻

We'll also be serving up some lemon tart, chocolate caramel slice, plum slice, banana loaf, apple tart, lemon yogurt cake and blueberry bran muffins this week to satisfy all your sweet cravings! All lovingly made on site, here at Hope Café ❤️

Finding the right help locally should be a little easier next month, when nearly 60 organisations gather under one roof for the Rodney Support & Inclusion Expo. The free expo will be held at Mahurangi Hope Centre in Warkworth on Thursday, October 15, from 10am to 2pm. RICI - Rodney Inclusive Communities Initiative

"Happy School Holidays!" to those who celebrate 🥳

We will be open each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the school holidays, 9am till 2pm.

We have a covered playground AND we'll be offering some indoor activities for the kids during these hours too! There's a special yummy menu for little tummies, and excellent coffee, cabinet food and lunch menu for their grown ups as well 😋

Gentle reminder that everyone is welcome, whether you are a member of the church or not. You'll find us just behind The Warehouse... where there is plenty of parking available!

We may have been a bit quiet on the socials recently but there's been lots going on in the café and behind the scenes!

The Alternative Dairy Co have a beautiful range of barista quality milk alternatives which taste amazing and give the same silky smooth texture as dairy. Perfect in your regular hot drink... or watch this space for an amazing new summer drinks menu coming soon!

Talking of summer, we have restocked our drinks fridge with a range of juices from Karma Drinks... delicious, organic AND fairtrade! With four flavours to choose from, you are bound to find something that tickles your tastebuds and will refresh you as the warmer weather kicks in!
