Went to Auckland zoo yesterday and noticed how many grandparents taking care of kids during school holidays - legends! ( even managed to bump into a local Waikino with her grandie). So if tomorrow you are looking for something to do, join us at The Falls Retreat for lunch - let the little ones explore our kids playground, meet the chooks , play the giant jenga and do their colouring in before they tuck into their delicious wood-fired pizza …….while you enjoy a well deserved glass of wine !

Matariki weekend is officially here and we are Open all day tomorrow and throughout the weekend from 11.30-late providing the perfect spot to gather with your friends and family! Try our incredible Tumeric and Lime Margherita made using our homegrown lines, or our hearty new beef cheek dish served with potato & leek mash and locally grown baby carrots PLUS our usual array of delicious wood fired pizzas and other favourites !

What a beautiful day to get out and about in our neck of the woods! Ride the Hauraki Rail Trail, explore gold mining relics at the Victoria Battery, experience incredible views and adventure on the Windows Walk, and stop to take a breath ( and selfie) at stunning Owharoa Falls. 4 activities that cost nothing and will totally Fill your cup! And if you need some nourishment , be sure to stop in to share a casual woodfired pizza and a drink. Our Bistro is open all day today till late! ❤️

School holidays is upon us and our Bistro is back in action serving up the usual dose of incredible food all made from scratch ! Our menu has had a refresh with a few new dishes including a woodfired Funghi pizza, an incredible Winter special featuring beef cheeks in bone broth and loaded with garden veg and a couple of desserts to die for including a classic Italian Tiramisu ❤️ We also have our usual array of seasonal cocktails and a wide range of craft beers, home made sodas and a few new wines including manowarwine Valhalla Chardonnay making an appearance.
Come on up for a visit - we have missed you !

July is almost upon us which mearns next Sunday 5th July we open our Forest Sauna space to the public for casual use. Maximum of 4 people in hourly sessions where you relax in a traditional hot sauna for 3x rounds of 15 min sessions with the option of a refreshing shower and cold plunge pool in between. And all with an incredible view across the valley! Our Bistro is just steps away meaning you can follow up your dose of wellness with some incredible healthy Kai. A cancellation for our Waterfall Cabin means that NEXT WEEKEND IS AVAILABLE to stay with us ❤️ It’s the perfect time for a romantic getaway with the luxury of relaxing in a hot outdoor bath while star gazing and the opportunity to enjoy the tranquility of our incredible new forest sauna space. Our Bistro will be open all weekend serving incredible food made from scratch - this is a a winter getaway that ticks all the boxes!

We have been pretty quiet here on socials over the last few weeks as the Bistro is having a short break and we have been hibernating a little. Trying to take a dose of our own medicine and learning to slow down , rest and reset but to admit it’s hard as we always have so much going on in the background! Renovating our tables, making sure our accommodation guests are well fed and looked after, chopping firewood, redoing our dried flowers, harvesting from the veggie gardens.
In the blink of en eye the Bistro will be back open …… next Friday 3rdJuly , mark it on your calendar!
