Here at Viv's Kitchen our motto is "Food The Way it Used To Be", good old fashioned homemade food, using real ingredients, no packet mixes used here !! and we are Famous for our huge CREAM HORNS, with literally thousands having been sold ! We realise times have change so we can also cater for the Gluten Free, with a specific menu. We have lovely staff, a huge car park, and a massive outdoor area to enjoy. We have a tree house, and playground equipment for the kids to have some fun and give mums and dads a bit of peace while enjoying their food outside under one of our a lovely new umbrellas or a tree. and we are also happy for the family dog to get out and stretch their legs as well. Why not pay us a visit and enjoy it all for yourself !!!

Good morning everyone
I thought I'd get in and do another post before Charlie steals the show and gets in first again.

I just wanted to say how thrilled I am with how nicely the toy box has been filling. I know its extra tough for sone out there , but its so nice to see others willing to to contribute what they can. We have had the lovely Pauline adding several hand-made teddy bears again this year and although Im so proud of how our visitors have been adding to it, Im also super proud of one of our own girls Kate... once she had budgeted for the week and paid her bills and allowed for her petrol etc, she spent what she had on a whole number of things to add to the collection.
Thanks so much Kate, that is so kind and I know it will be appreciated by the ones it will reach.

So don't forget, if you wish to add to it, the box will be here for a few more weeks yet.

After yesterday's story, mum fought you might all likes to see the video of Boo opening and escapings out of the window, when she was just a baby and not so roly poly.
She mights be more clevers than me, but at least I can easily fit through gaps....not like her.
Don't tells Mum I saids that ! Ill get in big troubles.️ 😺

Good morning ebryones

When I first came to lives here, Mum told me stories about when my big Sis Boo was a kitten, she would lift the latch on the windows, push them open and climbs out. Her favourite was the bathroom one, because it leads out to the big rock thing outside.
Yesterday I was on the big rock thing and looking into the bathroom and theres she was, showing off about what she could do, so when she tried to climb through, she got in the way so I gives her a poke.
I waited for her to climbs out, but she just went down the bathrooms wall instead.
Mum saids that Boo's a clever girl opening the window and getting out, but I don't fink she can anymore because shes to big and roly poly !! ️ 😺 😸 😸
I hope Mum doesn't hears me say that about Boo, because I fink Boo wants to be Mums favourite and I can't haves that !!
Everyfing about Boo is nice.. I always hear Mum & Dad saying she has a pretty face and how lovely and fluffies she is, and her lovely nature, blah, blah, blah Little Miss Perfect !

Well..... I'll show her who's worthy of being favourite.....Ive got big eyes and lots of strips and I purr louder than she ever could....so there!!
Anyway, I betters go and see what I can do to impress Mum.

Good morning all

WE'RE HIRING

With the better weather coming and hopefully lots of people out and about, we really want to get the trains open and available to use. We're focusing on them being open weekends and holidays between 10 & 2, so if you're a VERY responsible young person looking to earn a few dollars or if you're older and possibly retired and would like a couple of extra dollars to top your pension, or someone aged in between....why not contact us. We need someone responsible and able to ensure the rules are adhered to. If this sounds like something youre interested in....

ALSO...we almost have Little Ruthie the caravan up and ready to sell Fresh Fruit ice creams and possibly need an extra pair of hands to help out there. We're not totally set on the hours for this, but definitely the weekends and holidays as well.

And one last position....someone to help our current dishwashers with dishes, possibly Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, same hours stated in the above 2 postions or to be negotiated.

Good morning everyone

Just a little follow up to my previous post about the Wedding Cream Horns. Im absolutely staggered at the amount of comments and I thank each and every one of you for taking the time to read the post and commenting.
Yesterday one of those comments was from the Wedding Photographer, who very kindly sent me a professional photo of them on display and also a comment from both the bride & groom.

A happy day had by all, including me for having the privilege to be a part of their special day.

Good morning everyone

Several weeks ago I had an email from a lady who knew it was a long shot, but wanted you know if I would deliver some cream horns to Foxton Beach for their wedding.
We don't do a lot of catering, let alone deliver as time is a problem.

However me being me, said yes, we can make that happen for a special occasion and me thinking.....No problem...Kevan can deliver them while I stay at work. I asked if she had any special theme colour, as I thought I could do something extra special with them. She told me she didn't.

But then you all know what happened to Kevan and he is now no longer allowed to drive for 6 months.
Oh well...looks like I'm going to have to sneak away after all 😊
I couldn't let the bride to be down.
So yesterday the big day came and although she didn't have a special theme colour, I managed to make some little fondant hearts and decorated them anyway.

Once again, mission accomplished, 50 Club sandwiches and 50 Cream Horns delivered successfully.
Alway nice to help make someone's special day just that much more special and I think although there was no theme colour, they looked rather nice with the little hearts and a sprinkling of glitter ✨️ ❤️

Good morning everyone

2 weeks ago I posted about a little 4 month old kitten that had gone missing in Sanson, and a very upset 4 year old that she belong to.

This morning I am over the moon to share the news with you that she has been found.
Her Hooman Mum messaged me last night to let me know.
She and her little girl were just boarding a plane when they got the news.....her little girls words upon hearing were...
" Mummy, do we have to go on holiday". 😊

Thank you everyone who commented on the post at the time and shared some tips to help find her.I know you're going to be as happy as me to hear the news.
Apparently shes healthy and happy and has just been roaming around.

4 years and 3 days ago, I was also posting about a missing cat...our very own Alfie. Sadly our boy has never been found, but I haven't given up that hes still out there somewhere and will come home to us 😢 💔

Good morning everyone
On Wednesday the sun was shining and encouraging us to get outside and do something, so for the first time since Kevans little hiccup with his health, we did just that.

Some of you may remember way back in the times of Covid, we had our caravan totally rebuilt. At the time, we had plans to take her on the road and sell Cream Horns. Unfortunately the day to day got in the way and we were busy enough with just running the cafe, so she has just sat idle....
However on Wednesday we moved her into the middle of the garden area and we are currently getting her ready for her new role.
The plan is to sell Real Fruit ice creams.
We have a couple of extra jobs to do, before she is fully up and running and then just wait for the sun to keep shining.
So apart from everything else you can enjoy when you visit us, you will soon be able to enjoy a Real Fruit Ice Cream as well !!

Isn't Little Ruthie just the cutest little caravan ☺️

Good morning everyone
In light of the very frightening episode Kevan went through 7 weeks ago today...... this morning we have had a Defibrillator installed at the cafe. Its not until we went through something like we did, that we realised how much these are needed in the community.

We know a lot of peoples hearts skip a beat when they enter our doors, but lets hope and pray they don't beat that fast that we need to put the Defibrillator to work. However its reassuring to know its there.

Hi Ebryones

Hope you're all really goods.
Im just so excited, because since I'ves found wheres Boo & Lucy are hiding all day, I stays with them now. Im no longer inside on my owns, which is great, but I has to admits, sleeping up in the roofs isn't as nice as the big soft fing I used to sleep on. But Mum saids, we can't always has our cake and eat it too.
Honestly I wonder what shes on sometimes....
SURELY SHE KNOWS I DONT EAT CAKE !!!

Anyways, I was so excited yesterday, Mum was leaving for works and she found me playing wif my new toy. I found it coming out of the green stuff outside and Mum said its called a worm.
I was having so much fun wif it but then Boo comes over and I fought...
Oh no, Im gonna lose my new toy to Boo, but lucky shes not as playful as me and lost interests real quick.
But if Im honests I can see why.
I picked it up and dropped it, finking it would bounce....but it did nufing!! So I kept trying, but same fing all the times. It just wiggled along the ground. Well, Im sorry Mr Worm, if you fink Im going to keep playing with you, you can fink again.....youre boring and anyways, don't you know who I am? Im Charlie and Im not just any old cat !!! So if you wanna play games with me, you better be betters than that
Don't tells Mum....but I fought about eating it, but Mum puts my meat in the white beeping machine and warms it up for me, so I why would I want to eat it cold️ 😺
