Hey just wanting to know the trick behind removing the hair from the mussels.
If you pull up the shell cuts the beard away and when you open it the beard just comes out easy.

Today’s mussels are on!!!
Beautiful, fat and large!
We are open today 10.30-7.00

Just a little edit.
The red 1s are females
The white are males.
I personally think the red have a stronger flavour.
I do do mixed pots as well.
The knife I use is just an old boning
Knife I have blunted and rounded( I know lots of you use the butter knife it’s just not for me)
The mussels are raw, I check for crabs(the odd 1 may get thru) the ‘hairs ‘ are removed.
