1988. Top Town was on the telly. People still drove Triumphs and Valiants. And somewhere on Manchester Street in Christchurch, three friends opened a restaurant called Lone Star.

With no idea what they were starting. No idea that one day, New Zealanders all over the country would lean back in their chairs, loosen their belts, and say - 'yeeeppp. That was good'!

Today, we celebrate 38 years of Lone Star. We're celebrating all month long! So come on over, and book your table now to RSVP.

For old times’ steak, because a lot has happened since your last Dixie…

Maybe it was a first date. Maybe it was a birthday that got a bit rowdy.
Maybe it was a Lassoo of Hog you finished all on your own.
Lone Star has been the home of good times since ‘88, from that very first restaurant in Christchurch.

For old times’ steak, share your Lone Star story - because after 38 years, there are plentyworth telling.

Comment your fondest Lone Star story for your chance to win one of 5 $100 vouchers. Winner chosen Wednesday 30th September.
