Weekly Wine Series | Luce 2000 🇮🇹

Some wines define a region. Others help redefine it.

Luce 2000 is one of the original Super Tuscans, born from the collaboration between the Frescobaldi family and Robert Mondavi. A blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, it challenged tradition while remaining unmistakably Tuscan.

After more than two decades in bottle, the bold fruit has softened into remarkable complexity. Think dried cherry, to***co, leather, cedar and spice, all carried by silky tannins and an impossibly long finish.

A benchmark. A collector’s bottle. And one of the rare treasures waiting in our cellar.

This time, Paul Pujol takes us behind the scenes at Prophet’s Rock, sharing the journey that brought him here and the partnership with François Millet that continues to influence some of New Zealand’s most celebrated wines.

Together, they discuss a philosophy that goes beyond chasing the perfect vintage. For François, the vintage should never overshadow the vineyard. The truest wines are those that let their terroir do the talking.

Because great wine isn’t made overnight.
