Taking out the People’s Choice Award at Beech Tree Dark Nights with their incredible Plum Sake Stout, Searchlight captured the hearts (and taste buds) of the crowd.

Thanks to everyone who came along, worked their way through the dark beer lineup, and cast a vote. And of course, a massive shoutout to all 15 breweries who helped make this year’s Dark Nights one to remember.

Another Dark Nights debut is rolling into town… and it’s a big one.

Welcome McLeod’s Brewery 🍺

Nestled in the tiny Northland town of Waipu, McLeod’s has somehow turned a population of around 1,000 people into one of New Zealand’s craft beer success stories. They’ve collected more trophies than most breweries have fermenters and built a reputation for making beers that are consistently excellent without making a big fuss about it.

Which is very Northland, really.

This year they’re making their first-ever Dark Nights appearance, travelling the length of the country to join the dark side.
