Danish Delicacy Catering Co began with a love for traditional Danish cuisine and a few recipe experiments that quickly turned into requests from Danish friends in New Zealand. Inspired by their support, we launched in October 2021 to bring authentic smørrebrød to Auckland. Our menu features classic Danish open-faced sandwiches and Kiwi-inspired twists, all made fresh with premium ingredients. Smørrebrød is perfect for lunch or any occasion where great food and a touch of Danish “hygge” are welcome. We’re proud to share a taste of Denmark, crafted with passion and tradition.

Our much-loved FAMILY BOXES are back this month! Woohoo! If you have been wanting to try our smørrebrød for yourself, but you haven’t quite managed to convince your bosses to get it as a work shout (just yet), now is your chance to try it in the comfort of your own home….

Smørrebrød orders for this Friday 18th September are NOW open until Wednesday 9pm or until sold out (whichever one comes first).

A healthy takeaway option instead of the usual fish and chips! As always, limited boxes so get in quick to avoid you missing out on a taste of some Danish delicacies. Choose from either an eight or six box to feed your family or get a couple of boxes and invite some friends round!

What’s in the box this week:
🇩🇰 Slow Roast Pork Belly - with stewed red cabbage and house-made pickled cucumber (pictured)
🇩🇰 Roast beef - with house-made remoulade (pickled mayo) and horseradish cream topped with crispy onion, house-made pickled cucumber
🇩🇰Creamy chicken - Soft poached in a creamy dressing studded with apple and celery and topped with crispy bacon
🇩🇰 Crumbed fish - with house-made remoulade (pickled mayo), fresh tomato and lemon

8 smørrebrød box $64 (2 of each flavour above)
6 smørrebrød box $48 (pick 3 flavours from above)

Pickup preferred before 3.30pm but can deliver for an additional $30 dependant on location.

Email [email protected] to order with the date in the subject. Then size of box, phone number and address in the email and we will reply with payment details.

Featuring our in-house made Danish-style rye bread (rugbrød), the foundation of our premium smørrebrød! Made with 100% rye sourdough, our bread is fermented for at least 15 hours from mixing to baking. Did you know that Danish rye bread (rugbrød) is a dense, whole-grain sourdough packed with fiber, vitamins, and seeds? It helps control blood sugar, keeps you full longer, improves digestion, and supports heart health! Not only do we use this delicious bread for our smørrebrød, but we also sell it by the loaf.
