Amayjen the Restaurant is run by husband and wife team, Andrew and Jenni May. Andrew is a former Scottish Chef of the Year winner, Andrew earned the immensely prestigious Award in 2009/2010. Amayjen was originally an old tyre shop in Feilding which Andrew and Jenni transformed into a brand new restaurant, since June 2021 Amayjen is now located at 17 Victoria Avenue Palmerston North in their New Restaurant

It’s with heavy hearts we announce that Amayjen’s final day of trading will be Saturday 30/05/2026.
What an incredible 12-year journey it’s been. We opened in October 2014, transforming a tyre shop in Feilding into something truly special. After Covid, we relocated to Palmerston North and continued building a place filled with great food, connection, and unforgettable moments.
We’ve been incredibly honoured to receive recognition over the years, including multiple Cuisine Good Food Guide “Hats,” Beef & Lamb Excellence Awards, and Manawatū Restaurant of the Year. Andrew was also proud to be a Beef & Lamb Ambassador and named New Zealand Chef of the Year in 2023.
More than anything, it’s the people who made this journey so special—our amazing guests, and the team who became family. The friendships and memories will stay with us forever.

This decision hasn’t been easy, but it allows us to focus on new aspirations and the next chapter ahead.

Please come in, say hello (and goodbye), share a hug, and enjoy one last meal, cocktail, or dessert with us.
