Hurrah! Hurrah! It’s food truck Friday!
Your favourite meals on wheels from around the region return with your monthly treats this Friday 4:30-7pm on the corner of Main and Tararua Streets, Pahiatua and here’s the line-up:
:-) They sell out every month so rattle your dags if you don’t want to miss out on a feed from Toastie Boy . Mum and son duo grill delicious chicken and beef and serve them up in a toasted wrap, or on chips and with a generous side of fresh, crunchy salad and dressings of your choice. Because we all have different sized appetites, they thoughtfully offer a smaller meal option! Don’t forget to grab a serve of Toastie’s famous baklava with a side of cream ... sigh.
:-) If you’re looking for exceptional Thai food, you simply can’t go past Tuss’s Tucker - Tasty Thai Fusion and after a well-deserved break and they are back, fired up and ready to rock and roll baby! They’ll have their trailer loaded to the gunnels with your favourite stir fries, soups, curries, pad Thai, roti, skewers, dumplings, spring rolls, stir fries and (wait for it) pork belly with apple slaw and rice (OMG). Thoughtfully they have GF and VG options available, nice of them eh?
:-) If you fancy your tastebuds being tickled by a frankfurter or cheese Kransky hot dog topped with onions, grated cheese and bacon, and your choice of marty sauce, mayo, sweet chilli sauces (to name a few) then Mad Dogz is the truck for you. But wait, there’s more. Perhaps the Italian in you is crying out for one of their perfect pasta pots with meatballs, or chicken, or sausage or bacon … Can life get any better? We think not.
:-) Oh la la! The team at Excuse My French - The Crepe Makers know how to spin out a delicious, authentic French crepe. There are over 20 sweet and savoury options to pick from including buttery, citrusy Crepe Suzettes (flambeed, as they should be), scrummy ham, cheese and tomato Provencale, raspberry jam, lemon and sugar, or banana and chocolate, and Nutella (for kids young and old). Or maybe you want to create you own combo … c’est magnifique!
:-) European flavours are key to the Grillhaus NZ menu including their own crafted small goods like bratwurst and currywurst (with or without sauerkraut), gourmet burgers, garlicky finger-slurping prawns with even some smaller meals sized perfectly for the kidlets. Neat eh? And maybe there’ll be something sweet with cream to go with that hot coffee to keep you warm while you wait for your orders.
:-) The king of BBQ, Flame 'N' Flavour, returns. If tender, succulent BBQ’d brisket and pulled pork on toasted broiche buns or on roasted spuds (made properly with olive oil and garlic thank you very much) or on mac ’n’ cheese (Ed. swooning!) accompanied by homemade sauces, chilli mayo, pickles and cheese are what you desire, then better see chef Paul. But that’s not all, there’s also pork ribs, nachos and maybe even a sticky pud. AND if we’re lucky he may bring his brazier so you can warm your wee trotters next to it ...
