Ō Café

Ō Café Best coffee in town provided by Allpress - and fabulous home-style food with an industrial rustic vi

The café takes its name from the Māori language and literally means "provisions for a journey". The legend of Ōtorohanga as told by a descendant of the Ngāti Maniapoto tribe, is up on the wall and tells the story of greeting and welcoming others with outstretched hands with the provision of food. It is this philosophy that underpins Ō, which is warm at heart and dedicated to providing fresh, tasty treats in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.
Ō aims to source local ingredients and employ local staff, testimony to their commitment to establishing and maintaining strong ties to Ōtorohanga and the community. The home-style cuisine is a selection of delicious, healthy options while accommodating a wide range of dietary needs, including gluten and dairy intolerances. Well-made Allpress coffee and healthy smoothies are on the drinks menu, and an à la carte and kids menu provide even more choice for hungry diners. So, as the name suggests, next time you’re in Ōtorohanga, pop into Ō to experience a real taste of local Ōtorohanga food for your journey.
