Pizza is one of Romeo’s favourite foods 🍕
(which is good, otherwise we’d have a PR crisis on our hands 😂)

Whenever we need a quick, easy dinner, pizza is pretty much always the answer. Sometimes we keep it simple, sometimes we make it a little more indulgent, sometimes we load it with protein and whatever we have left in the fridge.

Our sourdough pizza bases make it so easy — add sauce, raid the fridge, into the oven and dinner is done.

It’s always a win with Romeo… and, to be fair, with us too.

Keep a couple of bases in the freezer for those “what are we having for dinner?” nights.

Proof that leftovers can make a pretty great dinner.

Leftover steak + our rye and wholemeal spelt sourdough + Masiello Food pesto alla genovese + fresh mozzarella, all warmed up in the oven until melty.

Missed opportunity here because we didn’t have any Taste Lab sauce at home 🤦🏼‍♀️ would have been delicious!

Quick, easy and SO good.

Also, the pesto is a new addition to our shelves at Romeo — definitely worth trying 💚

Save this for one of those nights when you have leftover steak in the fridge and no idea what to make with it. Easy dinner, zero waste, healthy and seriously delicious.

Our sausage roll is back — but this time, we took it to the next level.

Inspired by a classic Beef Wellington, our pork & fennel sausage is wrapped in sourdough pastry with that signature lattice finish. And because a sausage roll needs tomato sauce, we put ours inside: a rich sun-dried tomato sauce, so every bite gets a little bit of both. 🍅

Launching this Saturday and we’re taking pre-orders now! Send us a DM or WhatsApp, or pop into the bakery tomorrow to secure yours for Saturday.

New in the pantry 🇮🇹🫒

A little taste of Puglia has landed at Romeo. Organic mixed olives in oil, organic black olives, and organic capers from Gusti Amo Bio.

Grown organically under the Puglian sun and made in Italy, perfect for aperitivo, salads, pasta, focaccia… or straight from the jar.

Now on our shelves at Romeo!

Honestly, we’re way more mellow these days than we were back in the day… business + baby will do that to you 😂

But this Saturday was a proper work hard, play hard kind of day. Starting at 3am, our busiest day at the bakery, cleaning and setting up for the week ahead… then back at 6:30pm to feed the starter so Diogo could have a slightly later start on Sunday 😅

And somehow, we still made it into the city for a concert and a very fun night out. Still got it. Kind of.

One of our favourite things is seeing what you do with our products once it leaves our bakery: the pizzas, the sandwiches you make, the breakfasts you put together, the treats you share.

Our new Romeo merch just arrived 🥹

We collaborated with local illustrator L. (thank you for the intro Suia Westbrook (she/her) CoastLab ) and gave her a simple brief: a day at Romeo.

She captured two little scenes from our world — the outside of the bakery, now on our T-shirts, and the inside, featured on our new tote bags.

They arrived today, just in time for Father’s Day. So if you’re still looking for a little something for Dad (or for yourself), they’ll be in store from tomorrow.

Made with a pork & fennel sausage created by our friend chef Chef Gwithyen Thomas wrapped in our buttery pastry and baked until golden.

SATURDAY CALLS FOR A BURGER 🍔

Our sourdough burger buns are available every day, but somehow Saturday just feels like the right time for a burger.

We’ve recently switched up our recipe too, now made with wholemeal spelt for a deliciously soft, nutty bun with a little extra goodness.
