Kai Reka will be temporarily closed while we take a little time to work through some staffing changes and figure out what the next chapter looks like. This is not a permanent closure — we’re just taking a short pause while we get things sorted.
We also want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to Ani and Jamie for everything they have brought to Kai Reka. 🤍
Jamie has both been such a huge part of this little café for so many years, and honestly, it’s hard to imagine Kai Reka without her. She has become so much more than just our barista — she is part of the heart of this place, and her absence will leave a pretty big gap.
But life happens, things change, and sometimes we have to adapt to where life takes us. We are incredibly grateful for all the hard work, laughs, memories and care they have given to Kai Reka, and we wish them both nothing but the very best for whatever comes next. ❤️
