In 2016 Ron and I landed ourselves in a period of transition from one place to another. With no real idea what we were doing. Lol. We had a rough plan, some kind of direction and a burning desire to serve our community by holding a space for social good. So, we jumped in the fire so to speak. Fast forward almost 9yrs later and OMFG have we ridden the roller coaster that is small business ownership! We don’t talk about the first 2yrs coz faaaaaar out. Steepest learning curve for sure! But by 2020 we had well and truly found our feet and the world was looking good again. And yeah, we all know what happened that year. From the shock of navigating through the apocalypse, the massive overreaction and influx that came next, to the complete and utter retraction of business, stamina and unity that followed, we tentatively put the place up for sale. Fast forward nearly 2yrs from that decision and the world is a very different place for sure. And still no sale. Noone tells you just how much you come to love a place eh? As always, it’s the people. The community. The aroha. The manakitaanga. These are the reasons we’ve stayed for as long as we have. You.
But…we out guys. Heavy hearts some days. Excitement for the future on others. We’re both beyond burnout but the sick sense of humour is definitely still intact! Hahahaha. We could not have done this without you.
Last day is December 22, 2024. Let’s make it a mean one. Cruise in and see us. Help us move the last of our stock. Use up those vouchers. Big ass garage sale coming early Jan (potentially) so keep your eyes peeled on here for deets.
Nothing is permanent. Nothing is owned. We are all just caretakers of this land. We believe we’ve improved the soil. Time for the next chapter. No regerts.
