October 5% Project: Ōpunakē Community Pools 💙

This month we're backing Ōpunakē Community Pools, a volunteer-run, community-owned indoor pool serving Ōpunakē and the wider coastal Taranaki community.

For a lot of coastal whānau, the next nearest pool is 45 minutes away. This is where tamariki learn to swim, schools and kura get in the water, and locals of all ages stay fit and water confident.

Funds raised this month will help swap the pool's gas heating for energy-efficient electric heat pumps, plus essential roof and solar work. Lower running costs, a longer swimming season, and access that stays affordable for everyone.

Shining Peak Sunday Sessions, two weeks out. Mitch and his Guitar is a solo artist from Hāwera.

He follows in the footsteps of his inspirations, Ed Sheeran, Passenger and Hollow Coves. He writes his music from life events, almost as if a musical diary, playing acoustic guitar and adding his vocals to release softer singer-songwriter tunes.

September 5% Project - On The House 💛

Since 2017, the New Plymouth-based food rescue charity has been collecting surplus food from across Taranaki and getting it to people and whānau who need it most, for free.

And the impact is huge. In the last year alone, On The House redistributed more than 260,000kg of food. The equivalent of 578,000+ meals, reaching almost 16,000 households across the region.

This month, 5% of our b**r sales will help fund a new commercial freezer for their Meal Donor Program, giving On The House dedicated storage to prepare, store and deliver meals to YMCA’s Te Whare ō Tapatahi night shelter, with more room to grow as demand does.
