Day 3 of Yachting New Zealand Youth Trials Murrays Bay Sailing Club

Ryan O'Neill has had some great results over the last few days. He's coming 14th overall, finishing in 11th quite a few times!

They've had some fun conditions to deal with - lots of gusty wind, rain etc.

All of NPYC is behind you Ryan

Thank you for a wonderful opening day! It was great to see everyone back at the club and out on the water. The Have a Go was a pleasure to host and we hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to make opening day such a success.

See you back on the water next Saturday ⛵️

Tom Oldham joined our Adult Learn To Sail Programme in 2025. We loved having him learn with us and we were sad to see him move to Wellington, but know he'll be back one day ⛵️

Tom's now bought an ILCA and he'll be racing at Worser Bay Worser Bay Boating Club this season (please look after him). He's planning to compete in the ILCA 2027 Nationals and hopes to see some NPYC sailors there!

Tom sent our Learn To Sail Team a lovely message this week.

'A big thank you to the Adult learn to sail team from last season. Your teaching was amazing and you have inspired me to keep it up!'

Tough weekend for our junior sailor Ryan O'Neill, who travelled up to Murrays Bay for the Coaches Regatta in preparation for Youth Trials in the school holidays. Racing was called off due to too much wind 🌬

It's a looong drive up to Auckland and we are so impressed with Ryan and his whānau's commitment to the sport.

Thank you to everyone who provides these amazing opportunities for our junior sailors.
