Situated inside Nelson Mitre 10 Mega, we have an exciting chef/cook opportunity at Columbus Coffee.

Going above and beyond to offer our customers a premium coffee and food experience we are looking for a Chef to work with the owner and team in this well-established café.

What do we offer?
1. Competitive pay rate
2. Early starts & early finishes, usually 6:20 am till 3:00 pm
3. Minimum of 35 hours guaranteed but can have some flexibility here
4. Fun and efficient team
5. Training and upskilling

Cafe Chef/Cook
You will contribute to the successful running of the kitchen - in a busy cafe environment. You will be given a full induction and training but will need to be confident and experienced to work unsupervised.

The ideal candidate for this role will
1. Be a team player with good communication skills
2. Be a professional who strives to maintain high standards and who takes real pride in the quality of the food
3. Solution focused with an ability to manage stressful situations effectively
4. Be confident with stock control systems, costing food products and food safety compliance
5. Ideally have at least 12 months experience as a chef working in a busy Cafe kitchen with great experience in cooking short order brunch meals and baking skills to help with preparing savoury and sweet food cabinet items
6. Be able to work on a 7-day roster which will include weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required

Some Responsibilities include:
1. Prepare and cook meals as per Columbus Coffee Standards
2. Prepare and present cabinet food items
3. Productivity, stock control and rotation
4. Ensure daily monitoring and control of all food purchasing, purchasing specifications and food stock control.
5. Follow and maintain our high standard of Food Safety compliance.
