New Chicken Flavours

Starting this week, we’re introducing two new original chicken flavours at Le plônc, joining our much-loved Lemon Chicken and Teriyaki Chicken.

🍗 Miso Mustard Chicken
A rich and savoury miso-based sauce balanced with the bright acidity of mustard. Deep in flavour without being heavy, it pairs beautifully with both rice and potatoes.

🌶️ Hot Spicy Chicken
Created for those who enjoy a little more heat. Chilli and vegetables create a full-flavoured sauce, finished with balsamic vinegar for a subtle sweet-and-sour balance.

Both new flavours are made in our kitchen and can be enjoyed dine-in or takeaway, with your choice of rice or potatoes.

It’s been a very cold couple of days in Nelson.

Some things at Le plônc have changed over the years, while some things have stayed the same.

Our menu is more relaxed these days, but we still make many things from scratch and take care with what goes onto your plate.

And on a cold evening, there’s something especially nice about a warm table, good food and a little time to slow down.

Whether you’ve been coming to Le plônc for years or are visiting us for the first time, you’re always welcome.

We’ve made some new flyers to introduce Le plônc to more people in Nelson, and we’re now looking for a few good places to share them.

🍑 This week’s homemade cake — Peach & Earl Grey Tea Cake

Every week, we bake a different cake at Le plônc, and this week it’s all about peach and Earl Grey.

A soft, moist cake with the delicate fragrance of Earl Grey, sweet peach.

It’s lovely on its own, but even better served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

A little something sweet, made in our kitchen with care.

What a lovely night at Le plônc last night. ✨

We had a full house — something we haven’t had in a little while.

It was the first evening in a while that was warm enough not to need the heaters — perhaps a little sign that spring has arrived, in more ways than one. 🌿

It was a lovely balance of familiar faces and new guests, with every table enjoying their food, conversation and time together.

Our little team was just three of us — two in the kitchen and me on the floor.

Small team, but everyone gave it their best, and we managed to keep everything running smoothly, just as we always do.

I’m so grateful for the staff I can rely on. And our newest team member worked incredibly hard to keep up with the busy night — thank you!

Watching the atmosphere in the dining room, hearing the energy coming from the kitchen, and seeing everyone leave with a big smile on their face…

That is one of my favourite things about running a restaurant.

Thank you to everyone who spent their evening with us last night, and thank you to our wonderful little team.

A spoonful of chilli con carne. 🌶️

It may look like just a little spoonful on top of our croquette.

But there’s a lot of work behind it.

Carrots, beans, onions, tomatoes, fresh herbs, vegetables and simple seasonings.

Nothing complicated.
Just good ingredients, slowly cooked to build a rich, savoury depth with a gentle kick of spice.

This chilli con carne is served with our croquette as one of the side dishes when you order a set.

Even for that one spoonful, we take the time to make it properly.

Because at Le plônc,
the little things matter too.
