After an incredible run, Ortons’ time with Church Road Winery is coming to an end.

As we wind down our time at Church Road, we want to thank the countless people that dined or held events with us at one of Hawke's Bay’s most iconic wineries and destinations. It is your love of great food, atmosphere, service and sharing in one another's company that drives us every day!

We have had the most amazing time working alongside some of New Zealand's best wines and amazing people to bring to life our vision and we wish the next stewards of this great restaurant all the very best.

We're looking for a Casual Bar Manager who brings energy, precision, and a passion for outstanding hospitality.

This fast-paced, hands-on role puts you in charge of all aspects of bar service – from preparation and setup through to service and pack-down. As the certified Duty Manager, you'll lead our bar team, uphold responsible alcohol service and create exceptional guest experiences at every event.

Based primarily at our home venue, The Old Church, along with regular off-site events across the region, you'll work closely with our event planners, event supervisors and wider operations team.

From weddings and corporate functions to special occasions, you'll play a key role in bringing each event to life – leading one of the most visible and energetic parts of every celebration.

If you are professional, reliable and calm under pressure – with a genuine passion for hospitality and the organisational skills to keep things running smoothly when the bar is humming or the pressure is on – we would love to hear from you.
