The Winemakers Table, round two.

On 5 August we're joined by Gordon Russell, who spent 30 years as winemaker at Esk Valley and picked up NZ Winemaker of the Year along the way. He's opening bottles from his personal Esk Valley collection, wines he made, aged the way he intended.

The menu is built around them, with plenty of produce straight from Gordon's garden in Bay View.

17 seats across two tables. A few are already taken by people who missed out on the Ollie Powrie night, so don't sit on this one.

Tomorrow is our first ever Winemaker's Table, with Ollie from Chateau Garage.

Missed out on a ticket? Shame on you. Thankfully, there'll be another next month.

In the meantime, you can still attend by osmosis, just dine with us tomorrow night as usual. Bring one of those big cone things you hold up to your ear and you might catch what Ollie's saying two tables over.

Starting 1 July, we're launching a monthly event that brings you into the conversation between wine and food.

Less than 20 seats split across two tables, rustic classics paired with wines presented by the makers themselves. This month it's pouring and talking through his work.

Warning: you will make friends AND have very strong opinions about wine by dessert.
