What an afternoon! Thank you so much to all the incredible women who joined us for our Women in Business event.

It was so lovely bringing women from across the Matakana Coast and surrounding communities together to connect, share ideas, make new connections and enjoy a few hours away from the everyday.

A little change to our Sunday hours 🍻

This Sunday 9 August the Barrelworks Taproom will be closed for a private Women in Business event earlier in the day.

We will be opening to the public from 3pm, so come on down from then for your Sunday beers, tasting paddles and good vibes.

There’s something about winter that calls for dark beer.

We’re bringing together 10 incredible dark beers for one day only, featuring 5 guest brewery pours alongside 5 exclusive 8 Wired cellar and special releases. From easy-drinking dark milds to rich imperial stouts and rare vintage beers, there’s something for every dark beer lover to discover.

🍻 Festival Tasting Paddles ($25) will be available all day, giving you the chance to work your way through the lineup at your own pace.

🎤 Guided Tasting with Søren | 3pm

Purchase a Festival Tasting Paddle and join 8 Wired founder and brewer Søren as he takes you through each beer, sharing the stories behind the brews, the inspiration for the recipes and what makes our cellar-aged releases so special.

If you’re planning to join the guided tasting, we’d love to know. Send us a message or comment below so we can get an idea of numbers.

We’re excited to have local legend Lou Perkins providing the soundtrack to the afternoon with live music from 2–5pm.

Our Dark Beer Festival is back on Saturday 1 August, and it’s shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.

We’re pouring 10 incredible dark beers, featuring 5 guest taps alongside 5 of our own 8 Wired brews. We’ve pulled together an epic lineup this year, and we’ll be revealing all the beers very soon… trust us, you won’t want to miss this one. 👀

🍻 3pm Guided Tasting with Soren
Join 8 Wired owner and head brewer, Soren, for an exclusive guided tasting as he takes you through the beers, shares the stories behind them, and chats all things brewing.

Bookings are essential as spaces are limited.
