Angling Section had a great weekend first monthly weigh in for the season Allister Libdsay 2.190 trout was the heaviest Neil Paterson trout had biggest bag 2.490 with Allister best factor .0489 well done boys. A Great Day of Pool & Darts!
Club Southland honoured us with a fantastic day of Pool and Darts at the Makarewa Country Club.
It was a wonderful day filled with great camaraderie, plenty of laughs, good banter and some friendly competition. It was fantastic to have everyone together enjoying the day.
Over the next couple of months, we look forward to reciprocating the visit and heading over to Club Southland for another great day of Pool and Darts.
Thanks to everyone who made it such an enjoyable day — we’re already looking forward to the next one! 🍻🎱🎯

Join the Makarewa Country Club Angling Section
The freshwater fishing season is nearly here, and the Makarewa Country Club Angling Section is inviting members to join us for our monthly trout-fishing competition.
Each month, members can start fishing from Friday evening and enjoy a few hours, or the weekend, near the water before bringing their catch to the club’s weigh-in on Sunday.
Our first monthly weigh-in will be held on Sunday 4 October at 6pm. We are looking for the heaviest fish, the heaviest bag (2 fish only), and the best factor. Winners earn bragging rights only.
Weigh-in costs $5 per angler, 2 Trout Maximum
The Angling Section is open to Makarewa Country Club members who hold a current freshwater fishing licence. Whether you are an experienced angler or simply keen to spend more time fishing and meet other club members, we would love to have you involved.
