Dear Friends, Clients and Colleagues,
I wanted to share a personal update with you.
Earlier this week, I (Paul) unexpectedly suffered a stroke and have spent several days in hospital receiving treatment and undergoing tests. I’m pleased to say that I’m now preparing to return home and begin the next stage of my slow recovery.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to the ambulance crew and the A&E, cardiology and neurology teams who cared for me throughout this experience. Their professionalism, compassion and dedication have been exceptional, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they have done for me.
It has been an unexpected reminder that sometimes life makes you stop, whether you planned to or not.
For the immediate future, I’ll be taking time to focus on my recovery and follow the advice of my medical team. I may be less visible and slower to respond than usual, so please don’t be concerned if you don’t hear from me straight away.
From a business perspective, Country Lane Group and all our businesses continue to operate as normal. This includes our eatery sites:
* Suburban Eatery
* Urban Eatery Barrington
* Urban Eatery Cashmere
* Urban Espresso Te Ara Atea
* Urban Espresso Moorhouse
* The Residence Prebbleton - coming soon
* the Social Platter co
* Waltham kitchen - kiwirail food producer partner
We have a fantastic team around us, and I know they have been working tirelessly to ensure that our customers, clients, events, commitments and day-to-day operations and experiences and food production continue smoothly.
I would particularly like to thank Manu for his care and support and leadership during this time, as well as the entire team for their dedication, professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond. I am incredibly grateful for everything they are doing to support our customers and clients and maintain the high standards we pride ourselves on.
I also want to personally thank everyone who has already reached out with messages of support. It has meant a great deal to me and my family.
I’m looking forward to getting back to full strength, but for once I’m going to take the advice I’m being given and give myself the time I need to get there.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Country Lane Group, our eatery sites and all our businesses.
Warm regards,
Paul
