Tomorrow is our final day and we're celebrating our time here in Lake Tekapo with 50% off all food items and non-alcoholic drinks! 🍔

We'd love to see you one last time, so pop in from 2pm and we'll be open while stocks lasts. All bottles and cans of beer + cider are $7 and we've got plenty of hot deals on our stylish Our Dog Friday merchandise, so grab yourself a cap because you'll miss us when we're gone! 😉 Seriously though... we need help using up all of the buns so come and see us!

We'd like to once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the support over the last few years and especially over the last few weeks. The decision to close along with our 11 YHA New Zealand hostels hasn't been easy but the love shown to our team has been felt by all! 🖤

It is with much regret that we must confirm the closure of Our Dog Friday on the 15th of December along with our 11 YHA New Zealand managed hostels, including YHA Lake Tekapo.

Wenting, Billy and the entire team would like to whole heartedly thank the Lake Tekapo community for their on going support over the last 3 years. The tight embrace from this wonderful group of people has been appreciated through and through, and never taken for granted. The excitement over our café and hostel opening, the enthusiasm for new burger launches and the love that's been shown to our team over the last week has been nothing less than incredible. 🧡

We'd like to thank Lake Tekapo School for our partnership during school holiday periods, Emerson's Brewery for their outstanding supply of beer, Fairlie Bakehouse for their fluffy burger buns and Four Square Tekapo for their ongoing support.

Our customers have helped make Our Dog Friday what it is and the relationships we've built personally with you have meant the world to us. We'd especially like to mention Jeffrey, Caleb and Callum, a few of our many loyal burger fans! 🍔

We will be running a few promotions in the lead up to our final open day and we would love to see your face between now and then. To kick us off from now until the 9th of December, all tap beers are $9. 🍻

HOOKED! 🎣 Dive into our Emerson's beer battered market fish burger with a fresh bed of lettuce, cucumber relish and a wedge of lemon, all caught together between a brioche bun from the Fairlie Bakehouse!

Last school holidays we held our second "Design a Burger Competition" and we're kicking off these school holidays by featuring our awesome winner on the ODF menu! 💥

Introducing Lincoln and his Ultra Kid's Burger made with 80g of premium beef burger, bacon, hash brown, lettuce, tomato with mayonnaise and ketchup, all between a Fairlie Bakehouse brioche bun! 🍔

‘Grilled! By Alice’ is the first ever DOUBLE anything burger by ODF legislation to hit our menu! This one features two 100g premium beef patties with Alice’s Korean BBQ Bulgogi marinade sauce, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions, all between a brioche bun from the Fairlie Bakehouse. 🍔

This Korean inspired burger will only be around until the end of the South Canterbury Outstanding Food Festival (SCOFF) tomorrow on October 3rd so get in quick!

Every school holidays we donate 50 cents from every kid's burger sold, to Lake Tekapo School! 🍔 These funds go towards projects and after starting the initiative last year, we've been able to raise over $1000!

Earlier in the year the school was able to replace shelving in the library and there are plans to build a school garden this summer! 🥦🥕🌽🍅

In Korea, Alice would typically cook bulgogi the traditional Korean BBQ dish when inviting others into her home for occasions such as birthdays or thanksgiving. In the past beef was considered the meat of highest value in Korea and so this dish was saved for those special occasions. 🎉

The Korean BBQ dish Bulgogi is a marinated combination of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, onion, brown sugar, black pepper and beef. It’s traditionally cooked on a charcoal fire but we’ve substituted that for our ODF grill. 🍔

We’ve put this delicious, traditional “fire meat” between two buns with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion as our dish for the South Canterbury Outstanding Food Festival (SCOFF).
