Hansen's Cafe Hansen's Cafe and Store has a lovely selection of food made in-house including gourmet pizzas, pies, great coffee and more! We are sure you'll enjoy your visit!

Hansen's Cafe and Store is located in Kimbolton, 20 minutes north of Feilding, or 50 minutes from Taihape heading South. Take an alternative route to State Highway 1 and travel along the fully sealed Ruhahine Road on the Manawatu Scenic Route and stop off in Kimbolton for a meal or coffee and dessert at Hansen's. The renowned Cross Hills Gardens are just 5 minutes north of Kimbolton which provides

a wonderful environment for stretching the legs, or simply stroll around the streets of the small village of Kimbolton. Hansen's provides a clean, comfortable and warm atmosphere. Our food is prepared in-house with salads, vegetarian and non-vegetarian hot meals including soups,pies, wraps, burgers and corn fritters. We also have gourmet pizzas available,freshly made for dine-in or takeaway, with lots of Gluten-free options just ask.We serve the ever so popular Arrosta coffee and have a good selection of loose-leaf teas. Our hot drinks are complimented by a tasty range of slices and desserts made in-house. We're open Wednesday 10-4pm

Can you spot our little friend,

🪵🌿 New Zealand Green Stick Insect

This appears to be a female New Zealand stick insect, likely from the Acanthoxyla (variable stick insect) group. These fascinating insects are masters of camouflage, blending in so well with leaves and branches that they're often overlooked.

A few quick facts:

Harmless to people — they don't bite or sting.
Most active at night, feeding on leaves.

Some species can reproduce without males, laying eggs that hatch into female offspring.
Commonly found on native shrubs but will happily live on garden plants too.

🥮 Caramel oaty slice
Fresh toasted sourdough toasties on Hansen’s farmhouse sourdough:
🥬 Vege — tomato relish, cheese, spinach, roasted red pepper, caramelised onion & feta
🥓 Bacon & egg — tomato relish, caramelised onion, bacon, egg & cheese
🧁 Chocolate mousse cupcakes with berry compote are also making an appearance this weekend 😍
And yes — we are OPEN on Monday for King’s Birthday weekend 👑
