Cody & Kaidence

Cody whom was shy and quiet on the first day ,surprisingly came out of his shell on day 2,from first point of contact to serving customers ,Cody had found his comfort zone .

Kaidence knight ,whom currently works in the hospitality environment,has the knowledge of what it takes to provide ordinary service in an extraordinary way .

Mōrena from Manaaki,

Here at Manaaki, we take pride in developing tino rangatiratanga.

We were approached to awhi, and we responded with open arms. After weeks of deliberation, we have managed to achieve the best possible outcome for everyone involved.

For the next six weeks, we have decided to awhi 17 students from Kaitaia College with hospitality work experience. The students will be rotating throughout the café every Thursday and Friday, learning barista skills, café etiquette, food handling, and much more.

Please be mindful and patient these are students, and they are here for the experience and opportunity to learn.

We hope that our small input will awhi their future in some meaningful way.
