- Light meals for the bar
- Dinner menu for the restaurant
- Catering (we have lots of functions and events booking)
- Excellent Cooking Skills
- Good attitude essential
You need to be able to work well independently and within a team.
You need to work well under pressure as it can get very busy.
You get the opportunity to create the menu and offer ideas for new dishes and ongoing menu, specials, functions and catering.
Working hours to be discussed but weekend work essential.

Our Story

THE DINING ROOM is a cozy restaurant in Hawera with a lively atmosphere. Located in one of taranaki’s most historic buildings, the dining room opened in 1923 as a customized restaurant company and private event space. After numerous years in the hospitality industry, the ex-owners, decided to open a restaurant, featuring foods they love, inspired by the spices and culinary aesthetic of the New Zealand.

Now New Ownership Now open 6 days in a week, dining room serves Mediterranean-inspired dinner selections, homemade sweets and refreshing cocktails along with wine pairings and craft beer. With flavorful, innovative food and a warm, friendly environment, the folks at dining room invite you to come in, relax and celebrate one of life’s greatest joys … the simple pleasure of eating and drinking.
