A little hospitality from the other side of the table. 🥃
We've had Cardrona Distillery on our shelves since 2017. The gins were the gateway - we fell pretty hard. Then came the vodka, the cherry liqueur, and more recently the whisky. The cherry liqueur has found its way into more than a few cocktails, and the butterscotch liqueur in a late-night hot chocolate is, quietly, one of the better things in the world.
So when I reached out to say we were going to be in the area, they welcomed us in without hesitation.
We got the tour, the barrel room, the full degustation - and then promptly forgot to photograph any of it because we were too busy eating. No regrets.
One of our favourite FAWC events was with Cardrona too - they've always known how to put on a night.
We’re always inspired by people who care deeply about their craft and the experience they create for others.
If you haven't tried their spirits yet, start with the gin. And if you're ever in the area, do the tour. It's been on our list for years - every other time we've been down, the kids were in tow and the timing just never worked out. Now they're older, and we can finally leave them behind; being hosted so generously made it all the more special.
Thank you to the whole team at Cardrona, it was such a memorable visit for so many reasons.
