ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - TRIGGAR HAPPY
Triggar Happy brings a distinctive blend of Country Rock and Hip Hop, combining country storytelling and big rock energy with infectious beats, catchy hooks and a modern edge.
Growing up around farm life, Triggar Happy was surrounded by the sounds of both country and American popular music. Country legends including Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson and George Strait shaped his musical ear, while artists such as Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer and Boyz II Men introduced him to the rhythms and attitude of Hip Hop and R&B. Those contrasting influences eventually came together to create a sound that is unmistakably his own.
His music is rooted in real-life experiences, drawing on the challenges, hard work and ups and downs of life on the farm. Rather than dwelling on the tough stuff, Triggar Happy turns those experiences into songs about resilience, positivity and chasing your dreams — a message summed up by his motto: never give up, never tap out.
With more than a decade in music, Triggar Happy has released albums including Stone Cold Country Boy, The Big One and One Of A Kind, earning the Independent Impact Artist Of The Year award in 2013.
His energetic live shows have taken him across New Zealand and Australia. And October 17, Triggar Happy hits Smash Palace with tickets available on Humanitix.
