🏏 Sims & Blue Indoor Cricket - going strong since 1985!

What started out of the Sims & Blue Ltd social club back in 1985 has grown into a proud tradition spanning more than 40 years.

In that time, an incredible 354 players have represented Sims & Blue Indoor Cricket, with more than 21 going on to provincial and international honours in outdoor and indoor cricket.

Today, Sims & Blue Ltd is proud to continue sponsoring the team, supporting our community and keeping the Sims & Blue name out on the court. We're also starting to blood our newest generation of players alongside some wise heads!

And now it all comes down to next week — Sims & Blue are through to the league final!

Bring it home lads! 🏆

Your Master Painters New Zealand Apprentice of the Year 2026 🏆

We're proud to announce that Matthew Sims has been named the Master Painters New Zealand Apprentice of the Year for 2026!

The award was presented over the weekend after a huge week of hard work transforming Ranui House in Christchurch.

This achievement reflects the hard work, commitment and attention to detail Matthew has shown throughout his apprenticeship.

It's also a proud moment for the whole Sims & Blue team, with Matthew becoming our second apprentice in four years to take out the title of New Zealand's top painting and decorating apprentice.

A big shout-out to our experienced tradespeople who have worked alongside Matthew - passing on their knowledge, setting high standards and helping train the next generation of our trade.

Congratulations - an outstanding achievement! 👏
