Time to WRAP up the week together 🌯

We’re open for lunch - and we’ll be serving up wraps, loaded baked potatoes, and salad bowls alllll day long (well 11am-2pm & 4 - 7:45pm) 🙃

We have a big array of our protein options available every Friday - including lamb shanks!

Rosie & Lucy are packing up our Friday Company Kai! Thank you to all the businesses who support us in this way (by simply ordering kai with us on Fridays!). 🧡

As long as The Bowling Club stays financially viable as a business, we can continue to share abundantly with *all* in our community. Thank you for being a part of it all with us. 🧡

And a special big THANK YOU to Moore Markhams whose team orders kai with us every Friday (and sometimes the company even pays for the meals)!. The Moore Markhams team has supported us in soo many ways over the years - pro bono accounting services, payroll support, and rich guidance as we navigate setting up a charitable trust. 🧡

I reckon this is one of our best curry meal
combos - our Japanese curry, with an optional side of pork belly ‘curry’ (braised with miso, sesame, ginger & veggies). PLUS, our house-made kimchi mayonnaise.

The meal is such a beautiful balance of flavours, and we’d love to share the beauty with you. 🤩

“I’m a crab!” 🦀

We’ve got our think n pillowy bread back (similar to our garlic bread from back in the day). Garlic & herb focaccia! It comes with all meals tonight if you want it! 🥖

Our mains also come with cauliflower cheese!
🔸 $5 pumpkin ravioli baked in a creamy tomato sauce
🔸$8 chicken & veggie pot pie!

We’ve got some slices of apple donut cake, and lots of fresh apple & apricot crumble (both can be served with custard if you’re feeling it!) 🍎

We are open for lunch - and our kitchen team is busy prepping for dinner too! 🔸

Nathan’s in our workshop (like our ‘bakery’) making lots of tasty wee raviolis for ya! Everything is made from scratch - Nathan (& his machine friends) roll out the dough, and fill each ravioli with a beautiful roast pumpkin filling. 🎃

Our teammate Leroy spent some HOT hours in the sunshine on Monday unloading two massive bins of pumpkins. And, Rosie is currently making the creamy tomato sauce that we’ll bake the ravioli in tonight. 🍅

It’s truly a team effort… and that’s just the ravioli! 🔸

We also have chicken pot pie for dinner, vegan ravioli (both served with focaccia!!), a vegan & GF shepherd’s pie, macaroni & cheese, wraps (per usual!)… and fruit crumble! We’d love to see ya now for lunch (til 2pm) or from 4 to 7:45pm for din. ☮️🧡🥣

Happy roast night everybody! For our protein options today, we have:

🔸 vegetarian Shepherd’s Pie $5
🔸 roast chicken thigh $8
🔸 whole lamb shank $16

All meals come with:
🔸 potato gratin
🔸 roast pumpkin
🔸 rainbow slaw

We’re hoping to see some rainbows tonight, but if not, we’ll eat ‘em instead 🙃🌈

It’s our first lunch of the week, which means The Bowling Club’s volunteer florist Margot is here swapping out our table flowers 🌸

Margot collects flowers from her garden (and others) and shares them with us. We feel so lucky for all the beauty Margot shares - simply by being here… and for the blossoms too of course 🌼

Esther is serving lunch, and our kitchen crew is prepping for roast night tonight (lamb shanks, chicken things, vegetarian shepherd’s pie & sides!). 😋

Last night, while I was chopping some coriander, I was thinking of how lucky I am to live a life so rich with kindness… Mainly because most of my life is spent at Bowling Club. 🔸

I was thinking about the person who gave Bowling Club an ice cream container of lemons from their tree. A ‘simple’ gift, and also how extraordinary it is that they thought to share their harvest with us. 🔸

I was thinking about our teammates Amye and Leroy, neither of whom work on Friday evenings, but how they both came in to help out on their night off this week.🔸

I was thinking about the customer who simply said “bless yous for the work that you do,” and how sincere they sounded when they said it. 🔸

And then I realised that the very chopping board I was using came from an anonymous act of kindness...

About two years ago, a mysterious Rachel from Ōtautahi mailed this handmade chopping board (made from native timber & branded with our “peace love & bowls” design) to The Bowling Club. It’s a dear treasure that we use at home, even though we rarely cook there. 🔸

I often think about how maybe we aren’t rich in money, but we are so rich in love. We feel it in simple and grand ways all the time, and we are so lucky. Thanks for all that you all share with us! 🔸

A reminder that we aren’t open on Mondays anymore (a new schedule change as of the start of the month), so we won’t see you tomorrow - but we’d love to see you Tuesday to Friday for lunch and din. ☮️🧡🥣

If you’re sticking around Ōtepoti & have some free time, we’d love to have ya here! We have a very kid-friendly space & LOTS of nice teddy bears to play with (thanks to the Southern District Police who gifted us lots o’bears many years ago when we first opened the eatery!) 🧸
