You know it’s a good day when Fleur cleans — and quite possibly licks — her bowl of Ben’s seafood chowder! 🤭🧡🥣

Today we had a very special visitor at Pinot Junction — the wonderful Fleur, an absolute legend of the restaurant world.

We’ve long admired Fleur and, if we’re being completely honest, there was a fair amount of fan-girling happening behind the counter today! 😍

She called in for lunch, tucked into Ben’s seafood chowder… and well, let’s just say the empty bowl said it all. 🥣😂

Fleur was every bit as lovely, warm and cool as we’d hoped — and we were just a little bit thrilled to have her sitting at our table.

Thanks for popping in, Fleur. You made our day! 🧡

And Ben… that chowder just got a pretty serious seal of approval. 👏🏼👨‍🍳

So technically we’ve lost an hour, which means today is already feeling like a very long day! 😆

What a beautiful day it’s been — the Heritage Precinct has been buzzing, the sun has been shining, and we’ve had plenty of our furry friends popping in to say hello too! 🐾🐶🐾

Tomorrow might be looking a little less summery ☔️… but just look at Caitlin with Frida and her fabulous daffodil hair 🌼💛 — surely that’s a sign that summer is on its way!

The PJ team are ready for another busy one, so pop in, grab a coffee, something delicious and enjoy this gorgeous little corner of Cromwell.

“We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Pinot Junction on a cold and rainy day, and it was the perfect cosy spot to escape the weather! This gorgeous little café is absolutely full of character, with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The staff were very friendly and attentive, and we were served quickly. I had the breakfast burrito, which was absolutely delicious - packed with flavour, wonderfully filling and exactly what I needed on a chilly day. My husband had a BLT sandwich, which he thoroughly enjoyed as well.
Great food, lovely service and loads of charm. We really enjoyed our visit and would happily recommend Pinot Junction for a relaxed breakfast or lunch!”

🇳🇵🇳🇵 SCROLLING FOR NEPAL 🇳🇵🇳🇵

You know in life, you sometimes get very fortunate to meet people who are super cool, lots of fun, incredibly supportive and kind… the sort of people who quietly contribute without fuss or pride, and who are just really good people.

Well, Greg and Sue Lind are the absolute epitome of that. 🧡

Along with their daughter Gabby from The Kitchen Garden-Private Chef+Caterer, they have a long history of conservation, contribution and community — both here in New Zealand and in Nepal. Be sure to follow Gabby and have a look through her fabulous social media pages to learn more about their travels, connections and the people of Nepal.

Following the devastating events in Nepal, we were only too happy to help when Greg and Sue asked if we could host a donation jar at Pinot Junction.

And because we know our famous cinnamon scrolls are pretty good at bringing people together… we’re donating $2 for every scroll sold throughout September! 🙌🇳🇵

Might have been a ‘no-turnover’ day thanks to power supply upgrades, but it was a gorgeous — and very rewarding — day out there in the sunshine! ☀️☺️

Lots of wee jobs ticked off, including giving our outside picnic tables a much-needed paint touch-up. And how nice to be working alongside Dick and Jason from the Masonic Lodge next door, who were busy sprucing up their fence in a super shiny black. It looks SO good! 🖤

Then they came to my rescue when I managed to run my battery flat by leaving my hazard lights on… who knew!! (Not me, obviously 🙄😂) Thanks for your help, Jason!

All the while, we were being ‘watched’ by the Precinct’s latest visitor — the Kawarau Arms’ very own “Log Ness Monster”! 🤭🦎 Zoom in on the second-to-last pic and you might spot him…

The team are back on board tomorrow from 9am, spring is definitely in the air, and we’ll see you soon! 🌸☀️

Sorry folks but we are CLOSED tomorrow for a scheduled power outage by Aurora Energy for maintenance work in the area.

As you can see from the map, it is only Les Les Riddell and us affected down here so the rest of the Precinct is open as usual fyi.

We’re back 9am Wednesday so we’ll see you then - apologies for the inconvenience 😢
