🌻 Supporting local, wherever we can!

If you’ve ever driven past a sunflower field like this in the South Island, there’s a chance those sunflowers were destined to become The Good Oil! 🌻💛

Their sunflowers are grown in partnership with farms from Canterbury to Southland, before being cold pressed right here in Canterbury. They also produce rapeseed oil from crops grown across the South Island.

The Good Oil is one of the local suppliers we’re proud to use at GDT, with their locally grown oils featuring in some of the house-made sauces and condiments we create for our food boxes. 🌱

We love supporting local producers and suppliers wherever we can. There’s something pretty special about knowing ingredients grown in fields like these can eventually make their way into the meals our customers are cooking at home.

It’s just one of the many little choices we make to put extra care into every GDT box! 💚

We’re thrilled that Foodprint is back! 💚🌱

We were so sad to see Foodprint close earlier this year, so we’re very happy to hear the food rescue app has been given a new lease on life!

Foodprint gives businesses a way to find a home for perfectly good surplus food rather than letting it go to waste - something we’re obviously big fans of at Green Dinner Table.

And it means GDT is officially back on Foodprint too! 🙌

We make our food boxes to order each week to keep waste as low as possible, but occasionally we end up with a spare box. When we do, we’ll pop it up on Foodprint for someone to rescue - so keep an eye out! 👀🌱
