Good afternoon, due to a power fault we will have a bit of disruption today as the teams are fixing the issue. We will be open 12:30 pm today. It may get noisy and the traffic management team are working with us closely for your safety.
Look forward to seeing you and we have temporary power to our van so there’s no disruption to our menu.
Hope to see you all soon😁

One year of us and 123 years of vanilla ices!

A year ago today, Gareth and Sarah officially took over Ice Cream Charlie. We’re celebrating that alongside 123 years since Sali Mahomet first brought his vanilla ices to Christchurch.

Come down to Victoria Square from 2pm to 4pm today for a taste of birthday cake. Spend $10 or more, then find Gareth or Sarah to spin the prize wheel! 🎡

There are vouchers, Charlie merch, Charlie cakes and a few other surprises up for grabs. Come join in the fun! 🎉🎈🎊

Calling Charlie fans of all ages who love to colour!

Looking for a little school holiday activity? With Mental Health Awareness Week following straight after the holidays, we’ve made two colouring sheets for anyone who fancies slowing down, switching off and getting creative. No artistic talent required… go wild! We’re particularly fond of a red ice cream (or green duck!) 😉

Our Victoria Square scene has plenty of detail for older Charlie fans who enjoy a challenge. Our Kaiapoi scene is simpler for younger artists. Grown-ups are absolutely encouraged to enter too!

There are free Charlie treats, Ice Cream Charlie merch, and $50, $30 and $15 gift vouchers up for grabs for our winners.

Hand your finished masterpiece in at our Victoria Square van or Kaiapoi shop by Sunday 18 October. You’re welcome to pull up a seat and colour at either location, with felts and pencils available on request, or take home and complete at your leisure!

Happy holidays!

Gareth has bravely defended the Victoria Square van against the weather this arvo, but he’s now approximately the same temperature as the ice cream. 🥶

We’re closing the van at 6:30pm tonight so we can thaw him out. If you’re still keen for a Charlie treat tonight, our Kaiapoi shop is open until 8:30pm… with the added luxury of walls, a roof, and warmth!

The good news is the weather is supposed to be great tomorrow while we celebrate our first birthday at Victoria Square! Hope to see you there! 🎉🎊🎂
