We believe the secret to a great sandwich is great ingredients. Our bread is baked from scratch every morning by a local baker. Our meat is free range and local, crafted the old-fashioned way by an artisan butcher. Our cheese is handmade by a variety of South Island cheesemakers. Our condiments are fresh and made in-house. Our salad is picked every morning by a local grower. Our meats and cheeses are sliced fresh as we make your sandwich. Enjoy

We haven’t done a great job letting you know, we’re now open Mondays! That’s 6 days a week of sandwich fixes (closed Sundays).

Hey sandwich lovers,

A small change in our shops: we're now wrapping sandwiches instead of plating them, even for those wanting to hang out and eat in.

If your sandwich comes wrapped, that's not a signal to rush off, we still want you to grab a seat, hang out, and enjoy it here. Our communal tables are still here for catching up with mates, or making new ones. That part of who we are isn't changing.

This is about helping us run a bit more efficiently in a tough industry, so we can stick around for the long haul.

The paper is the same one we've always used for takeaway, 100% paper, no plastic, fully recyclable or compostable.

Hey sandwich lovers,

Winter is coming, so it’s that time of year to switch up the seasonal veggies in The Veggie.

We’re saying goodbye to capsicum and courgette, and hello to pumpkin and beetroot, both are sliced thin and grilled, then chilled. Comforting, earthy, and a little sweet.

Available at both locations until spring.

Hey sandwich lovers, we've got a small update to share.

From today, our half sandwiches will increase by $1. It's our first price rise in two years, and we've done everything we can to hold the line, but costs keep climbing and we need to move with them.

Running a small eatery means we rely on the people who show up for us, and you show up every day. That support is something we think about and are grateful for. We don't take it lightly, and we never will.

We'll keep working hard to make sure every sandwich is worth every dollar. Thank you for being part of the Hokitika Sandwich Company community 🙏
