ects should it reach any water ways. Our bottles are the lightest the New Zealand industry can produce, with 80% of each bottle coming from NZ recycled glass. We think of our compost as we think of our own bodies, in that we only consume products on the premises that are good for its health. From the soap we use in the bathrooms that is transferred onto the handtowels, to the paper that is shredded in the office, along with the grape skins and green material that all make their way to the compost heap, we are conscious of the fact that you are what you eat. For Carrick the word sustainable has more meaning than a wine descriptor.

Join us on Friday 14th August for the launch of Excelsior Pinot Noir 2022
An evening celebrating our most premium Pinot Noir and the artistry behind every release.

Crafted only in exceptional vintages, Excelsior is our flagship wine, chosen each year by our winemaker as the purest expression of its season and place. For the 2022 release, the label features 'Dozen Oysters', an original work by ĹŚtepoti artist Alice Toomer, whose paintings explore the tension between beauty, desire and our connection to the natural world.

Wine and art have always shared a common language: each tells a story shaped by time, place and perspective. Join us for an intimate evening of conversation, discovery and a five-course dinner designed to complement the wines.

From a single block. A single clone. A single place.

The Magnetic Pinot Noir is crafted entirely from Abel clone fruit grown on a tiny 0.34-hectare parcel in our Cairnmuir Terrace vineyard. Named after a Kawarau River gold dredge, it honours a uniquely Central Otago story—one that begins with a smuggled Burgundian vine cutting and ends in a glass of Bannockburn Pinot Noir.

Awarded 95 Points – Outstanding by MS and selected for his Top Wines of 2025, the 2022 Magnetic Pinot Noir is rich, powerful and beautifully balanced, with velvety tannins and layers of baked cherry, toasted hazelnut, star anise and nutmeg. A wine of depth and precision, crafted for enjoyment today and rewarded with time in the cellar.
Produced in extremely limited quantities and available exclusively through our Limited Release collection.
