I’ve got some good news and some bad news.

First, the bad news.
From now on, we will be closed every Monday.
We’ve been able to stay open every day thanks to the support of my family, but right now my family needs my support. I want to make more time for them, so Mondays will be our regular day off until things settle down.

And now for the good news!
We were recently asked, “Do you have a lunch deal?”
So from Tuesday to Friday, we’re introducing a Lunch Deal.
At first I was thinking
“It’s the 21st century, so let’s make it $21!”
But in the end, $18 feels much better, right?
So we’re launching it at $18 from next Tue.
Dine-in only.
It would be great to be able to enjoy a bowl of ramen for $18, right?

Thank you for your continued support!
We’ll see you soon!

Yuzu season has arrived!
This year, we decided to try something new by adding yuzu to our ramen noodles. The light, refreshing aroma of yuzu floating through a rich, hearty bowl of ramen is just incredible.

Our original noodles are made with stone-milled flour and whole wheat flour from Minchins Milling giving them a deep, fragrant wheat aroma. By kneading yuzu into the noodles, it brings out and layers even more beautiful aromas.

These noodles were originally created for our vegan ramen, but if you’d like to try them with our regular ramen, just let us know😁👍

Thanks to your support, and with features from Denizen, Cuisine Magazine’s Kelli, and Jeese, the restaurant has become increasingly busy since opening in November.
When we first opened, I was overwhelmed with stress, wondering how to survive. Now, we’ve entered a different phase — figuring out how to run the restaurant smoothly and sustainably.

The reality is, we only have 16 seats and almost no storage space. That has become our biggest challenge. On some days, we serve close to 100 guests. Thankfully, the food has been very well received — but we are pushing our staff extremely hard.

I was able to give the team a bonus to thank them for their efforts, but honestly, that doesn’t solve the problem.
I’m still thinking about launching sushi. But I can see the questions in my staff’s eyes: Where? How?Who?

Storage is truly at crisis level. We are storing pots and gastros inside the fridge. soy sauce, vinegar? of course fridge! Yeah, something has to change.
So we’ve decided to close for lunch tomorrow and Tue to finally tackle the operational issues we’ve been postponing. Daijoubu, Dinner is still on.

We’re going to reassess everything — whether that means placing a shipping container behind the restaurant to create storage space, or renovating the space again. All options are on the table.
Especially because we’re planning to apply for our alcohol license as early as this week — and we currently have nowhere to storing sake! my sake!!!

We’ll take it step by step and keep improving — please stay with us and look forward to what’s coming😁👍

Let me introduce something special.

https://thericefactory-nz.com/

There is a company called Wakka Japan that sells incredible Japanese rice all over the world -NY,Hong Kong Singapore, Honolulu, etc. — the kind that even many Japanese people can’t easily get, even in Japan.
They have finally expanded to New Zealand and have started selling truly exceptional Japanese rice here.
Honestly, as a Japanese, this makes me even happier than IKEA coming to NZ.

What really sets them apart is their passion — they clean up the rice only after an order is placed.
I’ve eaten this rice several times myself, and it’s on a completely different level.

Why do Japanese people eat so much rice?
Because rice is delicious.
Why is Japanese sushi so good?
Because Japanese rice is delicious.
Rice is the true star of sushi — it’s the most important element.

We’ll be starting sushi soon using this rice.
We also plan to cook it using traditional Japanese rice cookers such as Hagama and Donabe.

Just like New Zealand coffee is outstanding, and just like New Zealand wine is world-class, Japanese rice is truly exceptional.
I really hope you’ll experience it for yourself.

Soon, sushi that could previously only be eaten in Japan will be available right here in New Zealand.
Please look forward to it 😁
