To our Valentines whanau,
We are aware of the recent media coverage regarding a reported norovirus outbreak associated with our Manukau restaurant. The health and wellbeing of our guests and team members has always been, and continues to be, our highest priority.
We would like to share the following updates:
Health officials have confirmed the illness involved is norovirus, not food poisoning.
Since being notified, we have worked closely with Health New Zealand, Auckland Council Food Safety Officers, and the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI). Authorities have carried out a comprehensive inspection of the restaurant, and no food safety issues were identified. Our A Food Grade remains unchanged, and we continue to cooperate fully with all agencies as they work to determine the source of the outbreak.
While this matter relates to a single restaurant, we have also reinforced food safety, hygiene, cleaning, and staff illness reporting procedures across all Valentines restaurants nationwide.
For more than 30 years, Valentines has proudly welcomed New Zealand families into our restaurants. We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and guest care, and we will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities.
We sincerely thank our guests, team members, and communities for their continued support, patience, and understanding as we operate and trade as normal.
