Such an amazing day at the NZSME Franchise & Small Business Expo today! 🙌

I had the opportunity to meet with Simon Bridges and have some great conversations about the challenges small businesses are facing, as well as the things that can make a real difference for business owners.

I also had the opportunity to jump on a podcast while we were there and chat about Smashies — the wins we’ve had, the challenges we’ve faced, and everything we’ve learnt along the way. 🎙️🍔

It’s always so rewarding to be able to share our journey and connect with other people in the business community.

A huge day of conversations, learning and inspiration, and a great reminder of just how far Smashies has come! ❤️

🚨 𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗢𝗘 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘🚨

Unfortunately, we’ve discovered a gas leak in the trailer, so we won’t be opening in Patumahoe tonight. 😔

We’re really sorry for the late notice and any inconvenience this may cause. Safety comes first, so we’re getting it looked at tomorrow and making sure everything is safe before we’re back on the road.

❤️ We’ll be back in Patumahoe next Thursday from 4–8pm!

Thanks so much for your understanding and support, we’ll see you next week! 🍔

THANK YOU!

Last night, we were privileged enough to win Best Emerging Business at the , South and East.

Earlier this year we took out Best Burger in New Zealand with Burgernation . If you'd told us that when we first fired up the grill, I'm not sure we would've believed you. It's been an emotional rollercoaster. The big nights, the quiet ones, the ones where we packed down late and wondered what the next week would look like.

What got us through it was you. The Franklin regulars who kept showing up. Pukekohe. Waiuku. Patumahoe. Tuakau. The same faces, week after week, bringing family, bringing mates, coming back for another smashie. You didn't have to. You chose to.

We are so grateful for our community. This award belongs to you as much as it does to us. Thank you for enabling us to get here, and for backing us all the way to this stage.

We love what we do. We love serving you. Thank you 🖤

Dave, Rachel and the Smashies Team
