You probably didn’t know, but Ping never drank coffee…

Weird, considering she’s been a cafe owner for nearly 15 years! It never held her back from being a great barista, obviously, but the delights of espresso have finally led her into the light.

She now enjoys a tall iced americano to sip on through the day. Give her another decade and we might finally persuade her to give a long black try, because you know that old saying… 👀😉🤫

It’s been 10 years since we bought a little, unremarkable cafe in Ellerslie and jumped in the deep end with a complete renovation.

Abi and Brandon gutted, designed and redesigned the interior and street front.
Brandon and Michael stripped FIVE layers of lino off the beautiful concrete floors in the wee hours of the night after their day jobs.
Abi ripped off the false ceiling to discover our iconic concrete beams and timber ceiling.
Ping held down the fort alone at our other cafe, managing staff, catering and our large bakery.

We are still immensely proud of what we achieved, and are so blessed we were welcomed into Ellerslie with open arms in 2016 💕

Abi’s go-to is the Vege Stack with its hearty full size, or peckish half size. Loaded with marinated portobello, homemade polenta chips and pesto, grilled tomato, halloumi, wilted spinach and eggs how you like them, it’s a healthy feast alternative.

Vegan, egg or dairy allergy? No probs! Our chefs will up the veg and give you breakfast you’ll be returning for 🥗

Hear ye, hear ye!
Prawn linguine has entered the realm (aka menu)!

We’re creatures of habit and comfort food so have rarely touched our menu in the last fifteen years, but it’s time for our much loved Oriental Prawn Pancake to retire and let a fresh new dish take up its mantle.

Fresh linguine, sautéed prawns and a simple aglio e olio sauce made with garlic, chilli, parsley and olive oil, then topped with lemon pangrattato and aged parmesan 🤤🍝🤌🏼

You probably didn’t know, but Michael was the last to join our owner’s team.

He was actually a long-time accountant, but jumped on board to help out when Abi went on one of her many maternity leaves.

Turns out, the hospo bug bit him so he never left! Like seriously, does the poor guy ever get a day off? 🥱👀
