Tanuki sushi and sake bar We serve traditional Japanese favourites like sushi, sashimi and tempura. We also have Japanese beer on tap and 23 types of sake from all over Japan.

We are located in the Arts district of Auckland city and a perfect destination before or after a show If you are going on to a show or the movies, Tanuki is the place to dine for authentic Japanese izakaya food.

We are open today from 4pm for Happy hour till 6pm.
Snacks and drinks available then full dinner menu from 5pm

Sushi has specially vinegared rice, whether it's a roll (maki sushi) or fish on top of a finger of sushi rice (nigiri sushi)
Sashimi is just super fresh raw fish with no rice.
Either way, we get fish deliveries every day so you know it's fresh!
