This month, a few of us are taking on Dry July to help raise funds for people affected by cancer. Cancer has touched so many of our lives. Many of us have lost family and friends, including our mate and comedy host, Gary. Others have stood beside loved ones through treatment and know how difficult that journey can be. This is one of the reasons this cause means so much to us....

If you're up for the challenge, we'd love for you to join our team, go alcohol-free for July and help raise funds for people and families facing cancer.

If giving up alcohol for a month isn't for you, we'd really appreciate your support with a donation instead. Every dollar helps provide practical care and support to people when they need it most.

On Saturday 13 June our Grunge Night at Ding D**g Lounge brought together an incredible community for a cause.

Thanks to everyone who came along and a special thank you to all the bands and muscians who donated their time and talent to perform.

Together we raised $930 for Lifeline through ticket profits.

Lifeline is a cause that's close to our hearts because, like so many people, we've seen friends and loved ones face some incredibly difficult times. Knowing this money will help provide support when it's needed most, means a lot to us.

Thank you for making a big deal about something that truly matters and coming along to support this event!

We didn't spend hours making a fancy promo for tonight other than the posts we've already shared, so today you get some words instead.

From 8pm, Trix is behind the decks for Post Hardcore vs Metalcore in the main bar. Upstairs at Dead Witch, Neural Decay, Cesura and Bottom Of The Barrel bring you Thrash, Metal and improv Grindcore. From midnight, we have Saturday Karaoke at Dead Witch with Skin hosting, as Bendezu keeps the main bar going til 4am.

Entry is $5 in the main bar or $20 at the door. Or if you can grab a ticket from our website for the bands, tickets are $15 before 8:30pm.

Happy Hour drink specials 7pm to 8pm, then again 12am to 1am. Plus our food menu is available all night. Our Korean Fried Chicken is amazing. Try it tonight!

Following last week's news, friends of Neck of the Woods have launched a Givealittle campaign in an effort to keep their doors open. We know firsthand how difficult it is to operate an independent music venue in the current climate and we also know what a loss it would be for Tāmaki Makaurau if another music venue disappeared.

If you've got the means and want to help, please consider supporting their campaign.

It's beginning to sound like a cliche because everyone's saying it right now but they're saying it for a reason. Every venue, record store, rehearsal room, promoter, artist and music fan is part of the same ecosystem. When we lose spaces like these, the whole community feels it.
