A note from the oven.

Michael, our pizza chef, had an accident at work this week and is in hospital. He's recovering, and we can't wait to have him back at the oven, but he'll be away for a little while.

In the meantime, I'll be making the pizzas myself, with a hand from a friend of the house. Pizza is in our blood, Michael and I both grew up in Italy, so the fire stays on and the standard stays where it is. Things might not be quite as usual for a bit: the menu may be a touch shorter on some nights, and it might take us a minute longer. Bear with us.

If you're in this week, come and say hi. And if you have a moment, send Michael a good thought. He'll read every one.

Thank you for supporting a small business through the bumps.

Regina con burrata. Tomato, basil, wood-fired, and the burrata goes on after the oven, torn by hand, so it stays cold and creamy against the hot base.
Pizza from 4, Wednesday to Sunday. 60 Picton St, Howick. 🍕

Aperitivo at Posto: a glass of w**e or a b**r and our wood-fired focaccia, $15, 4 to 5:30 every day we're open. The Italian answer to the hour before dinner.

Wednesday to Sunday. 60 Picton Street, Howick. 🍷

The lamb pizza nobody else in Auckland makes. Slow-cooked lamb, cheese, pecorino, wood-fired in ninety seconds. This is the one to order first.

New this month at Posto: the Porchetta. 🍕
Slow-roasted porchetta on rosemary potatoes, with horseradish, salsa verde and parmesan, straight out of the wood-fired oven.
On all September, but we only make so many each week. Once it's sold out, it's sold out until the next batch. Pizza from 4pm, Wed to Sun.

Saturday, from 8. Coffee, cornetti, and the named loaves waiting on the shelf.

No rush. That's the whole point of a Saturday.

The sourdough list is open for the weekend.

A small number of loaves, shaped by hand and put aside with your name on them. Reserve through the link in bio or the QR by the till, and collect Saturday or Sunday morning with your coffee.

More went out with names on them last weekend than any weekend yet. Thank you.
